OXFORD, OH — Verizon Wireless has activated a new cell site in Butler County that enhances network coverage and calling capacity near the town of Oxford, enabling more area customers to use their wireless phones concurrently to make calls, send and receive TXT and Picture Messages, and download games and ring tones.
Specifically, this new cell site improves service for students at Miami University, and residents and customers visiting the area along State Route 732 northwest of Oxford, and in and around Miami's Oxford Stadium.
"The benefits of this new cell site for our area customers include fewer dropped calls and clearer reception." said Roger Tang, presidentOhio/Pennsylvania Region, Verizon Wireless. "Our focus is on providing more capacity and the highest reliability on our network."
Nationally, the company has invested $25 billion over the past five years to improve and expand what is already the most reliable wireless network in the United States. In 2005, Verizon Wireless invested nearly $190 million in Ohio to maintain and enhance its network for customers.
