WOBURN, MA — Verizon Wireless will connect Boston Red Sox fans directly to the team's dugout through a series of moderated mobile chats beginning this week. The initial chat session, scheduled for Thursday, April 20th at 2:00 p.m., will be hosted by Boston Red Sox Manager Terry Francona. To sign up for the 'Red Sox Text Chat Series,' Verizon Wireless customers need only text message the word 'SOX' to 2355.

Once registered, participants can submit questions from their wireless phone during the moderated chat session. Verizon Wireless standard text message charges will apply. Additionally, each participating 'chatter' will be entered automatically into a drawing to win* two tickets to an upcoming Red Sox home game (date to be determined) and a baseball autographed by a Red Sox player. Verizon Wireless customers that participate in all six scheduled Red Sox text chat events will be automatically entered to win the Grand Prize consisting of two (2) tickets for the new State Street Pavilion seats for the Red Sox home game against the Minnesota Twins on September 30th, a $50 gift certificate to Game On! Restaurant, an exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour of Fenway Park, and six (6) autographed baseballs-one from each player participating in the text chat series.
