MT. JULIET, TN — Verizon Wireless, a recognized corporate leader in the fight against domestic violence, will donate $1,000 to the Wilson County CASA, Inc., a non-profit organization in Wilson County, to help aid children in domestic abuse and neglect situations.

Wilson County CASA leaders will accept the check, alongside the Mt. Juliet Chamber of Commerce and business officials on Thursday, August 17th at 11:00 AM in conjunction with a ribbon cutting ceremony of Verizon Wireless' new Mt. Juliet store, located in the Providence Marketplace (across from Target) at 401 South Mt. Juliet Road.

"Domestic abuse and neglect can be devastating to both adults and children, and our goal is to serve as a voice and an ally for young victims in our community," comments Laura Swanson, Executive Director of the Wilson County CASA. "Verizon Wireless' commitment to domestic violence prevention, and the financial contribution they make to our organization, provides our office with the tools and support we need to make our effort successful."

Verizon Wireless' commitment to fighting domestic violence began in 1995 when the company introduced its HopeLine ® program as a way to make a difference in the areas of domestic violence awareness, prevention and victim recovery.

The Mt. Juliet store and all of Verizon Wireless' 2,000 company-owned stores collect used cell phones (any make, model or carrier) to recycle the phones and give the proceeds to domestic violence programs across the country.

Store hours for the Mt. Juliet store are Monday through Saturday, from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Sunday, 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The Mt. Juliet store phone number is 615-773-1900 and Chris Lowry is the store manager. Customers can also visit these additional Verizon Wireless retail outlets in the Greater Nashville area:
