Verizon Wireless Opens First Communications Store In Nebraska With New Interactive Design

OMAHA, NE — Verizon Wireless announced today the opening of its first Communications Store in Nebraska that showcases a new and highly interactive retail concept that is a departure from Verizon Wireless' traditional retail store design. The 3,322-square-foot store, located at 12180 L Street in Omaha, will help serve the company's growing customer base and enhance the overall customer experience. The company also filled 10 new positions at the store.

The store features the company's new interactive design that allows customers to try wireless devices and experience on-demand access to short news, weather, sports and entertainment video clips and cutting-edge 3D games. Users can also experience Verizon Wireless' world-class, over-the-air mobile music, and desktop subscription music service — V CAST Music with Rhapsody. The store features accessories such as Bluetooth® headsets and stereo speakers and enables customers to view products and services on interactive television screens.

"This new store reflects our ongoing commitment to provide our customers with increased convenience and an accessible and knowledgeable sales staff," said Nancy B. Clark, president — Great Plains Region, Verizon Wireless. "Consumer demand for our wireless service continues to grow as we launch new, more sophisticated services for our customers."

Mike McLaughlin has been named retail store manager for the new Verizon Wireless Communications Store in Omaha. McLaughlin has been with Verizon Wireless for more than three years and most recently served as manager of the Verizon Wireless kiosk in Oakview Mall.

The following employees also have been named to positions in the Omaha store: Colleen Rovalcaba and Eric Stevens, assistant retail store managers; Maria Jimenez-Taborda, Shawna McDowell, Paul Morrison, Gina Parziale, Cory Riewerts and Carl Warford, retail sales representatives; and Shilo Jorgensen who is participating in the company's retail leadership development program.

The store is one of eight Verizon Wireless' company-owned Communications Stores and kiosks in Nebraska, and currently has two bilingual Spanish and English-speaking employees. Store hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. — 9 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. — 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. — 7 p.m.
