CHICAGO, IL — Telular Corporation (NASDAQ: WRLS) announced today that the Wi-PATH™ SX7M fixed cellular terminal, which it is bringing to the marketplace under Verizon Wireless’ open development program, has been certified to run on the nation’s most reliable wireless voice and data network. Telular, through its various product lines, is a global leader in wireless communications allowing business and residential customers to remain connected using both analog and digital communication devices. The SX7M delivers a complete mobile communication experience, instantly enabling wireless broadband data and Internet services over a single wireless network.

“Fixed cellular terminals, like Telular’s SX7M, provide cost-effective and robust wireless options for our customers,” said Anthony A. Lewis, vice president of open development for Verizon Wireless. “This certification reflects our pledge to encourage innovation and to deliver leading edge solutions that enable wireless connectivity, even in the most remote locations.”

The SX7M is a flexible and economical solution ideal for various applications including wireline data replacement, wireless data backup and remote data access. Beyond enabling wireless access for business and residential customers, the SX7M delivers mobile connectivity for government, public safety, and marine users. Telular’s SX7M also extends the range of cellular coverage to meet the remote deployment needs of utility companies and construction sites. The SX7M will be available through authorized Telular distributors and value added-resellers at the end of February.

“Verizon Wireless is well known for its expansive coverage, and it is a great distinction that the SX7M is available through Verizon Wireless’ open development program,” said Joseph Beatty, president and CEO of Telular. “Our relationship means that more users can turn to Verizon Wireless to take advantage of an economical and budget-friendly solution like the SX7M.”

In addition to the SX7M, Telular’s wireless tank-level monitoring device, the Prophet, was the first device to complete certification through Verizon Wireless’ open development program in July 2008.

Verizon Wireless’ network-only option allows customers to use wireless devices not offered directly by the provider, such as the Wi-PATH SX7M terminals. Verizon Wireless’ open development program is driven by the company’s desire to encourage innovation, give customers new wireless choices and quickly address opportunities to expand the wireless market. The company will also continue to provide full-service offerings for business and consumer customers.
