ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Verizon Wireless invites Lobos fans to go 'green' and help curb domestic violence in the community at the same time.
The first 50 people to recycle a no-longer-used wireless phone through HopeLine from Verizon at any of the participating Verizon Wireless stores in metro Albuquerque from Jan. 7-9 will receive a pair of tickets to the University of New Mexico Men's Basketball game versus Colorado State on January 12, 2011. Proceeds from the HopeLine program are used to provide wireless phones and airtime to victims of domestic violence and cash grants to local shelters and nonprofit organizations that focus on domestic violence prevention, awareness and advocacy. Phones that cannot be refurbished are recycled in an environmentally sound way under a zero-landfill policy.
