BACKGROUND: Jordan Blakemore, ten years old and a fourth-grader at Trailridge Elementary in Lee’s Summit, won the right to bring NFL linebacker Derrick Johnson to school as part of Verizon Wireless’ “Show & Tell” program. Parents could enter their child between kindergarten and eighth grade into the contest through an online entry form.
Derrick Johnson will arrive at Jordan’s home in a limousine to pick him up for their trip to school. Johnson will then speak to students, answer questions, sign autographs and take photos with his classmates.
