The International CTIA Wireless 2013 Conference begins on May 21, and for three days the wireless industry will convene in Las Vegas to discuss topics including cyber security, connected consumers, and next-generation networks.
During this year’s CTIA, there will be several panel discussions that will focus on the latest wireless trends. Tuesday’s CONNECTIONS Session “What Channel Will Win?” will dive into new channels and platforms that are changing the way consumers approach the home controls market. Panelists will cover the latest competition, the push for open standards and successful strategies to drive consumer interest.
One of the most popular keynotes is likely to be Wednesday’s “Mobile and the Fastest Growing Consumer Segment: The Modern Latino.” The keynote will feature entrepreneur, actress and entertainer Jennifer Lopez, Verizon Wireless Chief Operating Officer Marni Walden, and Brightstar Chairman and CEO Marcelo Claure. A replay of the event will be available on the Verizon Wireless News Center on Thursday. Verizon Wireless will also live stream a news conference on the News Center beginning at 11:15 a.m. PT on Wednesday.
Also on Wednesday, the FierceWireless “Executive Breakfast Series: Internet of Things” will feature top technology executives from U.S. wireless service providers, including Jim Wales, Verizon Wireless’ executive director of network and technology. Panelists will discuss how today’s innovators are working to expand digital concepts into the marketplace such as the connected home and how machine-to-machine technology positively effects businesses. The panel will also debate additional aspects surrounding “The Internet of Things,” including wireless security measures that will be taken and what other opportunities could arise through this connectivity.
