More than 8,000 mobile professionals from more than 50 countries will descend on the San Jose Convention Center for MobileCON 2013, CTIA’s fall conference focusing on enterprise solutions. Taking place in San Jose, Calif., from October 16 - 18, the conference will feature panels, keynotes and more than 100 exhibitors discussing an array of topics across multiple topics, including cyber security, digital privacy, cloud services and more.
The conference will kick off with a keynote by Verizon Wireless CEO Dan Mead focused on the challenges and opportunities of mobile commerce. Michael Abbott from Softcard*, Dan Schulman from American Express and James White from Jamba Juice will join Mead on stage. The keynote will be streamed live on the MobileCON 2013 website on Oct. 16 beginning at 2 p.m. PT/5 p.m. ET.
Verizon’s booth on the show floor will feature an exclusive look at the Softcard Mobile Wallet, including demonstrations of Softcard’s point of sale technology as well as Verizon’s Softcard-ready devices. Verizon customers can swap out their Android smartphone’s SIM card to an Softcard-ready version at the booth.
*UPDATE: Google and Softcard have completed an agreement that will leverage the best technology from both companies to create a more robust mobile wallet for consumers. The mobile payment system will keep the Google Wallet name. Read more here.
