In many Latin American countries, the official end of the Christmas season occurs on Jan. 6, with the celebration of Día de Los Reyes (Three Kings Day). The tradition celebrates the arrival of the three wise men that followed the Star of Bethlehem located directly over the baby Jesus. They appeared before the baby offering gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. Today Dia de Los Reyes is a celebration dedicated to children. Some children leave their shoes outside the door and others leave out water and food for the wise men and their camels in exchange for gifts.
Four bicultural “Mami Bloggers” who have adopted the Latino holiday tradition provide their best technology gift advice for Día de Los Reyes.
- For Kids – “My youngest children are fans of drawings and the visual arts, so they will be fascinated with Crayola DigiTools,” said Yadira Ambert, blogger for El Club de las Diosas.
