RootMetrics, an independent mobile analytics firm, recently announced its newest network study results ranking Verizon Wireless as the highest in overall network performance for the U.S. Mountain Region, which includes Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Utah and Wyoming.
To compile these findings, RootMetrics drove 17,218 miles throughout the Mountain Region and conducted 289 indoor location tests. Each RootScore® is calculated from a combination of tests that are weighted to reflect the impact that a consumer would experience. These scores were based on RootMetrics testing performed in the second half of 2014 (July-December) for the four major U.S. wireless providers in six network performance categories: Overall, Reliability, Speed, Data, Call and Text.
In Idaho, Verizon Wireless won overall and additionally in the four sub-categories of reliability, speed, data and call performance – including winning the same awards in its biggest city, Boise. Next door in Montana, Verizon captured the number one spot for overall performance along with reliability, speed, data, and call performance across Big Sky Country.
The Rocky Mountains echoed these RootMetrics state wins as Verizon won the overall award in Colorado as well as Colorado Springs. In Utah, Verizon celebrated the highest rankings for overall, reliability, speed, data and call performance – plus the top spot in the state’s major metro areas of Salt Lake, Provo and Ogden. Lastly, Verizon significantly outpaced the other three carriers in Wyoming for overall performance and the four sub-categories of reliability, speed, along with data and text performance.
“Across the Mountain Region, Verizon has rolled out its latest XLTE network technology to double 4G LTE network capacity,” said Chris Lewter, regional president of Verizon Wireless. “These RootMetrics scores reaffirm our belief that Verizon operates the nation’s largest and most reliable 4G LTE network.”
