TULSA, Okla. (January 3, 1995)-- As part of WilTel's global telecommunications services, the data communications leader has expanded its WilPak frame relay service to France. WilTel also offers WilPak frame relay service to key financial centers in Canada, Pacific Rim and other European countries. "Because frame relay is often the most cost-effective solution to a business' telecommunications needs, the market for frame relay service, both domestic and international, is growing at a very fast pace," said John Barnett, president of WilTel International. "We are expanding to new destinations as quickly as possible."

WilTel recently announced WilNet private line service availability to more than 40 countries worldwide and was one of the first interexchange carriers to offer direct dial telecommunications service to Cuba. "We have a solid reputation for delivering real world telecommunications solutions for our customers," said Barnett. "Our customers, who are some of the most sophisticated in the world, deserve our best work and attention to detail everyday and we hope this service to Paris will give our customers an opportunity to continue their growth in the new international marketplace." WilPak, the industry's first public fast-packet frame relay service, is now offered in six countries outside of the United States and plans for expansion into other international markets continue at a rapid pace. "France is another step in the ongoing expansion of WilTel global frame relay services," said Mike Yancey, WilTel manager of international services. "The addition of this service is another example of the WilTel commitment to offering quality global telecommunications service opportunities." WilTel is a full-service telecommunications company offering data, voice and video products and services.

WilTel owns and operates a nationwide digital fiber-optic network, one of only four in the United States, with access to more than 30,000 system miles. WilTel provides end-to-end services, communications equipment and facilities management and maintenance and has the only fiber-optic network dedicated primarily to business communications services. WilTel is based in Tulsa, Okla., and has offices in more than 100 U.S. cities.
