A Verizon Telematics Internship, which is part of the overall Verizon Campus Program will give you a chance to channel your drive and enthusiasm.

You will have the opportunity to work in a fascinating innovation group that seeks to develop next generation Telematics, data science, and automotive Proofs of Concepts. Aspects of the job will be championing projects related to using automotive data to develop use cases, doing data science, creating new apps that illustrate new use cases depending on interest and areas of education.

As a Technology Summer Co-Op, you may work in these areas:

Telecom Engineering: Work in a fascinating innovation group that seeks to develop next generation Telematics, data science, and automotive Proofs of Concepts.  Aspects of the job will be championing projects related to using automotive data to develop use cases, doing data science, creating new apps that illustrate new use cases depending on interest and areas of education.

Voice Engineering: The Voice Engineer will work on a complex distributed telephony/call center system using versatility and passion for maintaining extremely high-quality service provider-class platforms for telematics call control applications.

You are flexible, dependable and work well in varying environments. Learning quickly is personally rewarding and inspires you to take smart risks.

You’ll need to have:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Masters in Telecom management or equivalent major with an expected completion date between December 2018 and June 2020

Even better if you have:

  • Experience in any of the following skills / technologies: Linux/Unix OS system administration, Oracle DBs, PLSQL commands, XML and SOAP, VoIP – SIP Device Engineering, IP Telephony , OSI layers, computer telephony integration (CTI)
  • 3.2 GPA or higher
  • Strong analytical skills and solid communication skills
  • Previous related internship/work experience preferred
