What you’ll be doing...

Verizon is a Fortune 500 company and prides in servicing 99% of Fortune 500 companies as well as Government agencies around the world. This role is part of the MSS Service delivery team responsible for onboarding new customers through service turn up, working on large customer projects and resolving complex Tier 2/3 customer technical issues related to our MSS offerings with minimal outside involvement. This position provides expert level research and analysis for planning, organizing, and managing corporate-wide security functions.

Functional Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the customer and various teams in Verizon to manage multiple customer turn ups and projects simultaneously and resolve issues using direct access to systems, company information resources, laboratory simulations and engineering problem solving techniques.
  • Produce documented frameworks or architectures which describe and are used to manage the implementation of technical security environments.
  • Provide input into the security technology plan for the customer and ensures that plans for their assigned technology discipline integrate effectively with other aspects of the technical infrastructure.
  • Understand and effectively articulate the implications and impact that proposed architectural changes will have on the business (to technical and non-technical audiences).
  • Installing, troubleshooting and configuring all vendor provided tools

What we’re looking for...

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and 5 to 10 years of related experience in an Enterprise IT or Managed Security Services environment. Extensive experience with both physical and network/host level security.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot, correctly diagnose, and correct identified security deficiencies.
  • Work independently with minimal management supervision. Must be able to take an operational and project leadership role.
  • Must have extensive understanding of firewalls, switches, and IP routing hardware.
  • Extensive Linux/Unix skills and knowledge are a must.
  • Candidates must hold Baseline clearance or have the ability to obtain one
