What you’ll be doing...

Verizon is seeking an Analyst with proven Business, Technical and Project Management skills. The role is responsible for managing large and complex programs from end to end with an emphasis on cost, quality, optimization, rationalization and engineering.

The role is responsible for developing cost model via teardown/clean sheet, detailed category strategy, and competitive intelligence. The successful candidate will need to have strong business acumen and the ability to work within aggressive timelines while demonstrating out-of-the-box thinking. The ability to work collaboratively and to diplomatically challenge the status quo to achieve the business targets is critical. In addition, the incumbent will need to develop a deep understanding of the business and customer needs in order to manage a balance between strategic and tactical activities.

  • Conduct analysis and cost assessment including supplier / price analysis and competitive intelligence
  • Develop fact-base across category spend
  • Engage with N&T with technical level discussion in the areas of LTE, 5G, One Fiber, Optics, Routers and Switches with N&T planning team to cost model and category strategy
  • Conduct engineering, financial and cost analysis to develop Should-Cost model for selected products and categories
  • Recommend and support N&T with rationalization of engineering requirements during Could-Cost phase
  • Responsible for construction and accomplishment of the Fact pack
  • Ability to identify the must-have and nice-to-have requirements
  • Develop detailed Playbooks for negotiations with backup plan (to leverage fact pack, cost analysis & competitive intelligence)
  • Conduct financial and quality analysis in order to identify the benefits for the proposed negotiation strategy.
  • Recommend and drive the implementation of program changes and quality improvement utilizing various methods including but not limited to quality tear downs of devices and data analytics.
  • Understand and align the needs of the business with other ancillary programs through cosmetic and quality alignment.
  • Process engineer the design of various processes for existing and new programs.
  • Analyze product teardowns of selected devices to develop should cost model.
  • Analyze maintenance and services clean sheet to develop should cost model.
  • Report progress weekly and decide which issues strategically need to be communicated to stakeholders.

Support monthly Supply Chain Scorecard and quarterly management review meetings preparations.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience
  • Analytical mindset and understanding of value drivers and procurements
  • Engineering qualifications and ability to speak technical language with N&T
  • Problem solving, drive, leadership, coordination, and ability to embrace change.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Willingness to travel on occasion.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in an engineering discipline, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Two or more years of engineering experience with ability to lead and direct analysts.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams to achieve strategic initiatives and work independently through complex assignments.
  • Proficiency working with large amounts of data to synthesize a picture.
  • Demonstrated competency in communication and presentation skills; able to interact effectively with internal and external audiences at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills.
  • Strong conflict resolution, negotiating and facilitation skills.
  • Device level bill of materials knowledge.
  • Highly developed critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to independently organize and prioritize multiple complex assignments and projects, and successfully driving them to completion within the required timeframe.
  • Self-starter; Proven success working in a highly dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to cultivate strong collaborative working relationships and contacts within work group, across the company, and with external organizations.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment in order to achieve team goals.
  • High enthusiasm towards learning about new products, solutions and technology trends.
