Universal Service Fee

Telecommunications services provided by Verizon Long Distance are subject to a Universal Service Fund Fee. The Universal Service Fund provides telecommunications and information services to schools, libraries and rural health care facilities; it also serves to subsidize local service to high-cost areas and low-income households.

This Universal Service Fund (USF) charge will be identified on the bill as "Federal Universal Service" and will appear in the "Long Distance Plans and Other Charges" section of the bill.

The fee shall be calculated as follows:

The gross amounts (exclusive of taxes) attributable to interstate and international services billed to the Customer by the Company multiplied by 15.00 percent. These percentages will be subject to periodic adjustment by the Company.

Effective April 1, 2017, the Federal Universal Fund surcharge will increase from 15.0% to 15.65%.
