Anthony T. Skiadas

Tony Skiadas is the senior vice president and controller of Verizon. He is responsible for corporate wide accounting, finance operations, compliance, financial policies and SEC financial reporting. His responsibilities also include the review and analysis of various corporate acquisition and divestiture projects. In addition, Skiadas serves as the principal accounting officer for Verizon. Skiadas also provides oversight for Finance Transformation, a multi-year strategic initiative focused on transforming Verizon’s finance processes, systems and talent.

Prior to his current assignment, Skiadas was the senior vice president and chief financial officer for Verizon Finance Operations. Skiadas leads the teams responsible for accounting, bill to cash, accounts payable, commissions and payroll functions across Verizon.

From 2010 through 2011, Skiadas was vice president and chief financial officer for Verizon Services Operations, responsible for finance operations, customer financial services as well as financial planning and analysis.

Prior to that, Skiadas was vice president and controller for Verizon Telecom and Business, where he was responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial statements and overall accounting and financial reporting for the Wireline business. He was also responsible for revenue assurance and billing, commissions operations, regulatory reporting and internal controls.

In 2009, Skiadas was appointed vice president of Strategy and Finance for Verizon Business and was responsible for leading Verizon Business’ overall strategy, business development, financial planning and analysis, and performance measurement activity.

In 2006, Skiadas became vice president and controller for Verizon Business, where he was responsible for accounting, financial reporting and internal controls. He was also responsible for the accounting related merger integration activities surrounding the acquisition of MCI.

Skiadas joined Verizon Wireless (and its predecessor, Bell Atlantic Mobile) in 1996. He held various accounting and financial management roles of increasing responsibility. In 2000, he was executive director of the Consolidations and External Reporting organization. He was responsible for general and revenue accounting as well as reporting results to the Securities & Exchange Commission. Skiadas implemented Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance and participated in the merger integration activities surrounding the formation of Verizon Wireless.

Prior to joining Verizon, Skiadas spent the first five years of his career in public accounting and the insurance industry.

Skiadas is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of New Jersey and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. He holds an MBA in Finance from Seton Hall University and a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Delaware.
