Responsibilities

Responsible for a Most Favored Nation (MFN) Governance/Compliance Role within the Pricing/Finance organization. Work with Senior PCM Analysts and Legal, to ensure Verizon is compliant with contractual obligations.

Review custom pricing proposals to ensure compliance with MFN obligations. Analyze, recommend and approve custom pricing proposals for standard solutions, simple renewals and minor T&C modifications. The Custom Pricing team will perform financial modeling & risk analysis, and establish price points within predetermined guidelines to ensure margins are aligned with business objectives.

Financial & Business Acumen

  • Perform a governance/compliance role for Public Sector contracts with MFN compliance requirements. Work with Senior PCM analysts to perform benchmarking analyses, based on a discrete customer set, and determine if changes to pricing are warranted. Develop formal analysis and recommendation for submission to PCM Director/VP and Legal for review/approval. Develop certification documents for submission to the customer, as required.
  • Perform financial modeling & risk analysis, and establish price points to ensure margins are aligned with business objectives.
  • Evaluate and analyze based on profitability, competition, market nuances, and account strategy.
  • Evaluate, recommend and make decisions on common RFP/contract financial and business terms; adjust business case to mitigate risk.
  • Develop understanding of market characteristics including competitive pricing trends and customer segmentation.

Negotiation

  • Meet with Sales, Customer, and/or Outside Consultants/Benchmarker, as needed, to analyze and make pricing recommendations, comply with contractual requirements.
  • Responsible for influencing or negotiating contracts, as it relates to MFN requirements, with internal and external customers.
  • Work closely with Verizon attorneys as required to respond to specialized business terms, and specifically MFN compliance issues.
  • Meet with the State and/or Outside Consultants, as needed, to determine the scope, methodology, and relative comparisons for any benchmarking study.

Communication

  • Effectively communicate Verizon’s MFN compliance issues with senior management within Verizon and Customer, as needed.
  • Effectively communicate pricing and any custom terms & conditions to internal stakeholders and customers as required

Collaboration

  • Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure the cost/price proposal is compliant, accurate, competitive and profitable

 

Compliance

  • Work with Senior PCM Analysts and Legal to ensure compliance with MFN contractual requirements.
  • Maintain accuracy of deal financials in Engagement Portal
  • Ensure adherence with Executive Management Review (EMR) and Governance processes and obligations
  • Comply with Rate Stabilization Guide, CPE National Discount Policy (NDP), Capital Authorization Matrix, Intrastate Pricing, and other guidelines as appropriate


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, related field or equivalent experience required
  • 4+ years financial analysis or pricing experience required
  • Solid Finance/Accounting skills; Familiarity with principles, theories, concepts and technologies as well as Financial P&L
  • Ability to act independently and exercises independent judgment and discretion within generally defined practices and policies to select appropriate methods or techniques for obtaining solutions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • General knowledge of Verizon products/services and value proposition preferred; ability to understand the commercial, financial, regulatory, legal, competitive and technical aspects of the industry
