Responsibilities

This manager is responsible for the design, implementation and management of new wireless products and services to support the Wholesale channel (MVNOs, Telematics, Machine to Machine). These Wholesale products and services include, but are not limited to, Voice, Voicemail, Data (1X, EVDO, EVDO Rev A) SMS, MMS, Premium Messaging (PSMS & PMMS), WAP, BREW, and LBS for all Reseller types. Additionally, this person is responsible for coordinating cross-discipline project support of product launch initiatives.

A major emphasis of this position will focus on in-depth understanding and development of highly detailed product requirements. The candidate must be detailed oriented, able to work independently yet foster a team spirit amongst peers to meet business deadlines within a dynamic environment.

As the champion of these requirements, you will lead each phase including, but not limited to:
1. Assess new technology and solution providers
2. Participate in meetings with wholesale customers to understand their unique product requirements
3. Draft technical product development requirements and use case documents for submission to VZW departments
4. Participate in gate compliance reviews of product description documents with cross functional teams
5. Identify, assign and manage the cross functional core teams throughout the product development cycle, ensuring core team members and vendors understand and meet our product specifications and timelines. This includes any post-launch systems, software or hardware revisions as part of the product lifecycle.
6. Create and manage usage, subscriber, and revenue data to include trending. Provide presentations and/or reports to effectively communicate this data to Wholesale and Marketing Senior Leadership
7. Work with various groups to develop and maintain the Wholesale Product Road Map for the wholesale customer groups

Up to 25% travel may be required.



Qualifications

Education and Experience:
• BA/BS degree, Marketing or Engineering
• MS or MBA degree, Marketing or Engineering (Preferred)
• 5-7 years relevant product/software development experience
• 5-7 years wireless industry experience
• Previous, demonstrated direct personnel management experience of a software/product development group
• Previous experience managing cross-functional teams
• Ability to facilitate collaborative resolution of issues with a “win-win” approach
• Strong knowledge of commercial software, hardware and Internet technology
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communications skills are essential.
• CDMA technology experience (Preferred).
• Project Management software experience - MS Project (Preferred)

• Technical project management processes (PMP-certified Preferred)
• Demonstrated technical subject matter expertise in wireless data and TCP/IP
• Wireless systems and protocols [ex: CDMA, GSM, SS-7, SMS, EMS, MMS, WAP]
• Wireless Data Products and Services [ex. BREW, WAP, MMS, EMS, Ring Tones, Push to Talk, Location Based Services, ]
• Fundamental understanding of Web services [ex: XML, HTML, xHTML, etc.]
• Microsoft Office Suite
