Responsibilities

 

Positions Responsibilities

  • This position is responsible for the development, analysis and administration of compensation programs, policies and procedures that contribute to the organization’s ability to attract, retain and motivate employees.
  • Provides on-going consultation and serves as an effective business partner to client groups.
  • Plans and implements compensation programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Researches and analyzes market data, salary surveys and compensation trends to effectively partner with the business to make recommendations and influence business decisions.
  • Works to achieve Verizon’s desired position in the marketplace and supports compensation goals.
    Conducts and participates in numerous third-party surveys.
  • Performs job evaluation and ensures correct leveling and compliance with FLSA guidelines.
  • Ensures Verizon compensation programs enhance our ability to recruit and retain highly-talented employees.
  • Develops and implements compensation communications to managers and employees.
  • Independently conducts projects for business units and participates in special projects as requested
  • Participates in the administration of and the development of Compensation related processes and systems initiatives and aides in resolution of problems/ issues arising from the processes and systems


Qualifications

 

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • 5+ years financial analysis, compensation, or HR experience with an emphasis on complex analytical work. Experience within start-up and/or Hi-tech environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in leveraging various compensation vehicles to build competitive and complex offers (e.g. Equity, Retention bonuses, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience and ability in identifying and solving complex business and organization problems, creatively (e.g. Span layer, Comp Re-alignments, Acquisition Compensation mapping, etc.)
  • Thorough knowledge of FLSA and DOL regulations
  • Must possess excellent verbal and writing skills and the ability to communicate with senior management.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask in a fluid, fast-paced environment.
  • Highly proficient in the latest word processing, presentation, and data analysis software (e.g. Microsoft Suite, MS Access, etc.)
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented and possess strong communication and organizational skills
