Responsibilities

Verizon is looking for an experienced lawyer to provide support to Precision Market Insights, Verizon’s advertising, targeting and analytics business, on major legal initiatives, including strategic partner and vendor agreements, product design review and approval, policy, privacy, government relations and dispute resolution.  The position requires someone who can handle a high volume of varied and complex legal work.    The position reports to the Associate General Counsel – Product and New Business Innovation Legal Organization.

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contract drafting and negotiation
  • Ensuring compliance of Precision products with all laws, regulations and contractual commitments.
  • Assisting with privacy by design.
  • Assisting with legislative and agency action.
  • Developing standard agreements for mobile targeting solutions for Precision sales as well as standard partnership agreements for integration with third party business partners.


Qualifications
  • Education: JD degree from a top tier law school with strong academic performance.
  • Licenses: Active and in good standing with bar admission in New Jersey or eligible for New Jersey In-House Counsel Limited Licensure mandatory.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 10 years of recent, relevant, proven legal experience with a major law firm and/or in-house with a major company; significant transactional experience; experience in the digital and/or mobile advertising industry strongly preferred.
  • Experience with and proficiency in privacy law, regulation and industry rules.
  • Experience with and proficiency in location based services and related law, regulation and industry rules.
  • Exceptionally strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to professionally manage time, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and process a high volume of work in a timely and accurate manner with a high attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work independently and autonomously, as well as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to spot problems and develop and lead implementation of appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to interact comfortably with all levels of personnel and enforce legal requirements without alienating clients.
  • Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, MS Office, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to handle extremely sensitive and confidential information.
