The Corporate EPMO is chartered to create a community of practice, standardize PMO best practices and tools, and develop our PMO talent & competency across the enterprise. The role of this PMO Senior Consultant is to provide support and lead enterprise teams on key PMO initiatives to drive better business results on highly complex enterprise-wide initiatives. 

This position will report to the Manager Program/Project Management within the Corporate EPMO of Operational Excellence and will complete collective analysis of complex business problems/projects that drive business efficiency and enable successful business results across the company.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

•Define and Lead Verizon business units to a unified strategy and solution for any enterprise wide initiative.

 Responsible for provide executive reporting & presentations that communicates the direction, significant milestones and results of specific PMO initiatives that impact cross-functional teams within enterprise-wide initiatives with sponsor and champion direction. 

•  Lead the documentation of business requirements detailing the organizational capabilities, business transformation changes and functionality of enterprise toolsets to support desired solution.
• Partner with operational excellence leaders to provide project management support for complex initiatives to support their objectives. 

Establish mechanism to drive decision based on fact-based insights, objective data. 

* Work with senior management and Finance to complete business case creation and secure funding for enterprise wide initiatives including a benefit realization structure and performance tracking plan post implementation.
* Strong knowledge of multiple Verizon departmental systems, processes including marketing, public relations, customer service, enterprise, sales network services, IT for both wireless and wire line business units.

* Coordinate the collaboration of enterprise resources/partners required to drive PMO initiatives from strategic inception to production launch, including funding process and benefit realization.

* Leverage methodologies and techniques such as agile, lean six sigma, organizational change management, project & program management to plan and execute projects with excellence.  
* Communicate PMO initiatives across the enterprise and leverage this awareness to build support and ensure their effectiveness.   Act as a catalyst for the sharing and implementation of best-practices resulting from specific PMO initiatives.
* Oversee all relevant operational and governance meetings and participate as needed to ensure objectives are met.

* Engage business unit leads and be a liaison between other business units on projects/programs that have multi-organization or business unit scope. Coaches project/program team to identify and resolve risks/issues that arise during plan’s execution and effectively communicate to teams, senior management and governance bodies.



Qualifications

 

Qualifications:

• BS/BA Degree required (MBA/Masters Degree preferred)

*Minimum 7 years of Solid project & program management methodology & PMO experience required.  (PMP preferred)
• Solid 7 – 10 years in Telecommunications/Wireless/Technology or relevant professional experience required (10 - 15+ Years preferred)

* Exposure to OPM (Organizational Project Management) process management methodologies with ability to assess multiple factors (process, organization, people) to identify and analyze improvement opportunities and formulate recommendations. (a plus)

• Recognized as a leader with ability to build and maintain productive and collaborative partnerships with outstanding problem solving skills (Management and Finance background preferred)
• Familiarity with CRM, social media, social intelligence analytics and insights, how and why it’s used and experience executing research across key platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Blogs. (a plus)

• Proven track record in the development and deployment of large scale business unit strategic projects or programs.

• Excellent judgment and the ability to handle escalated situations, non-routine functions, take initiative and work independently
• High performance, self-motivated individual with a proven ability to build relationships and possessing excellent interpersonal skills.

*Ability to communicate effectively at all levels included executive management with excellent facilitation skills.
