Responsibilities

I. Job scope and responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for the delivery of financial guidance as an individual contributor working in specific areas within the Finance organization.

 

  • Provides an advanced level of guidance and insight to apply key business drivers or operational variables during the analysis process and validates/disseminates key assumptions, model outcomes, conclusions, risks, opportunities and recommendations.

 

  • A further key responsibility of this position is to identify and drive improvement opportunities in this area. Value is provided to the enterprise by constantly improving the finance and reporting processes to provide timely, accurate information and promotes informed decision making.

 

  • Provides in depth analytical support and analysis on commercial & financial models for various products and services in the Verizon portfolio.

 

  • This is a highly visible position due to the analysis and reporting functions performed by the position, requiring a solid understanding of the business and cost drivers along with strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.

 

  • Value is provided to the enterprise by identifying improvements to finance processes in order to provide timely, accurate information to decision makers.

 

  • Provides subject matter expertise in support of the decision making process & makes recommendations on future courses of action, strategies and/or policies as a result.
  • Leads projects in the role of project manager as required. Will supervise and lead a team of peers and subordinates in a matrixed organization.
  • Supports the decision making process as a subject matter expert in the form of recommendations based on significant quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Identifies and drives improvement opportunities for Finance and works closely with either the internal team or service providers (if any) to ensure improvement opportunities are implemented.
  • Design, prepare and interpret forward looking business/financial models and other special projects as needed.
  • Prepares budgets and forecasts that are typically highly complex, including monthly/quarterly forecasts, mid year forecasts and annual budgets.
  • Create internal management reports for monthly, quarterly and yearly financial results and prepare commentaries for senior management.
  • Prepare monthly reports and variance analysis for management review, participate in short and long range financial planning and forecasting and prepare ad hoc financial reports.
  • Assist in the drafting of SEC reports as needed.


Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, related field or equivalent experience required
  • Master's in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or equivalent preferred
  • Professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA, CFA) preferred
  • 6+ years financial analysis experience required
  • Strong analytical skills required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required
  • Proficiency with MS Office- specifically Excel and PowerPoint
