Senior Analyst Production Processing – Data Configuration

 Primary Responsibility

This position is responsible for support related to the overall PeopleSoft HRMS and Payroll data table structure and logic as well as the Time Reporting Systems that interface into Payroll. Overall accountability includes ensuring update; validation and maintenance of these tables and the data structure are administered accurately. This includes validating changes applied will not affect employees pay. This position must maintain an depth knowledge of the data to ensure accuracy of the data reported both for Payroll calculation purposes, stakeholder or other departments and external agencies that may request data (i.e. Labor, Legal, HR, Finance, state or country agencies). This position will support and rotate assignments within the Production Processing function. Additionally, this position will actively participate as the primary support for all testing of system or processing upgrades, enhancements and changes as they are developed in the due course of business activities.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Responsible for validating all uploads to the database from HR, Payroll, Commissions, etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring configuration of tables per business or labor requirements is accurate.
  • Responsible for administering the process supporting creation of earn codes or time codes and the validation of requirements with stakeholders.
  • Has detailed knowledge of query tools and their application.
  • Understands of relational databases, in order to create basic queries and reports.
  • Produces accurate and effective information using complex queries and reporting tools (e.g., minimal table joins and conditional clauses needed).
  • Supports compliance with internal policies and controls (e.g., Security, Disaster Recovery, Sarbanes Oxley and local entity or country compliance).
  • Referenced as subject matter expert for data related to or utilized with the payroll process.
  • Responsible for ensuring data dictionary to be referenced and utilized by Payroll and or stakeholders is current and accurate.
  • Responsible for leading the testing of any new or changed functionality within their area of responsibility, includes ensuring test scenarios, test scripts and expected results are documented Additionally responsible for leading the review of testing to ensure proper results are obtained.
  • Work with Analysts for operational projects impacting data
  • Responsible for providing information to Analysts so they can stay current on enhancements or upgrades implemented by the primary payroll or time reporting systems utilized. This includes enhancements or changes applied to the operational feeders supported.
  • Leads the payroll team in implementing standardized and simplified processes
  • Lead in coordinating internal and external audit compliance.
  • Seeks out continuous process efficiencies or improvements, solicits team for input and participation.

General Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates an in depth understanding of payroll processing operations and key performance indicators that drive the business.
  • Demonstrates a high level of understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and basic understanding of organizational industry standards specific internal control concepts and principles.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of organizational systems and related interfaces, process interdependencies and functionality to streamline processes.
  • Responsible for maintaining good working relationship with stakeholder groups, and understanding of their strategic initiatives and goals. Work with Payroll management to help drive standardization where applicable.
  • Perform training and provides assistance in developing process documentation.
  • Provide support to Payroll Operations team as required
  • Ability to identify and communicate process improvements as identified in the normal performance of daily functional activities.
  • Serve as a mentor to the Analyst positions.


Qualifications

Skills Required

  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in HRMS/Payroll Processing/Timekeeping system applications

(Prefer Global experience including domestic and international)

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of report query and design, Cognos
  • Knowledge of Payroll, Time and Labor systems and the associated data.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong Customer Service skills (both oral and written).
  • Finance Operations experience desirable, preferably Payroll.
  • Good organizational, time management and communication skills.
  • General understanding of required compliance with legal, regulatory, and financial requirements governing functional tasks and activities.
  • Ability to multi task, support day to day activities while managing projects and inquiries from stakeholders

 

Attributes Required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel; effective written and oral communications skills
  • Possess knowledge of payroll practices, policies and procedures
  • Flexible scheduling to meet processing demands, as required
  • Results oriented, strong sense of urgency, proactive
  • Strong quantitative, organizational skills
  • Possesses strong communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Ability to communicate to Supervisor and Manager levels
  • Team oriented individual who interacts and supports team members, team building
  • Ability to manage large work volumes, show flexibility, adapt easily to change

 

Candidate Qualifications

  • Require BA/BS in Computer Science, IT, Finance, HR or equivalent work experience.
  • Professional certification or experience preferred in Data Governance, PS or Time Tables, examples; PeopleSoft Global Payroll, Time Reporting Applications, Time Feeders, Vendor solutions in these disciplines
