Responsibilities

The Traffic Engineer is responsible for reviewing network performance statistics, providing detailed statistical network analysis and reporting, making appropriate recommendations to team, and developing a market design detail with assistance of other engineers. This position will be responsible for providing performance and capacity statistical insight to RF, System Performance, and other network engineers regarding wireless network to include LTE, VoLTE, 1XCDMA, and EVDO. A key aspect of this job will be clear, concise, and detailed person to person communication on a daily basis with network engineering team members. Responsibilities of this position include the following: Ability to develop reports and manipulate information using spreadsheets such as Excel and programming skills such as Python, JavaScript, SQL, and VBA. Knowledge of RBDMS database design and use. Familiarity with Linux based operating systems. Assessing business, regulatory, product, technical, performance, and deployment requirements using general and statistical methods then developing the technical architecture and implementation solution. Specification of the system equipment. Ensuring compliance with the Design during network deployment. Providing tiered support to other technical teams during implementation and after deployment performance. Determines system specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. Identifying new trends and changes related to communication technologies. Proposing new architectures and products, cost reduction mechanisms, and methods to increase efficiency Responsible for monitoring, analysis, and maintaining Daily reports on Network Performance.



Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent experience System integration skills, ability to understand large and complex networks, and good knowledge of interconnection interfaces and protocols. Extensive experience and knowledge in LTE, CDMA and EVDO networks and their performance. Ability to develop reports and automation using spreadsheets such as Excel and  programming skills such as visual basic. Knowledge of network capacity and performance, and ability to prepare network plans.. Knowledge and experience with voice and cellular data applications using IP, TCP, UDP, LAN, WAN, VLAN, Ethernet topologies, routers and switches as well as VoIP. Expertise of equipment operations and network standards. In Depth knowledge of equipment capacity and future capabilities; knowledge of equipment operations and network standards. Demonstrated proficiency in engineering and operations of Alcatel Lucent core equipment such as BTS and enodeB. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to communicate internally, upward, and cross functionally; ability to interface with cross-functional team members to gain support required to accomplish assignments; able to build coalitions; always act with tact and integrity, and interface with a variety of individuals in a positive and productive manner; strong presentation skills required. Ability to diagnose and correct various system and interworking problems and provide simple and effective summary recommendations. Ability to self-educate in new telecom technologies, strong problem solving/troubleshooting skills, self-motivated, ability to multitask, good time management skills, and ability to work under pressure. Valid Drivers License
