Responsibilities

The candidate accepting this position will be responsible for supervising a team of technicians working in Verizon facilities and at customer’s premises. The candidate will set performance objectives, providing performance agreements, and complete yearly reviews. Additionally the candidate is responsible for attendance, training and will provide coaching to associates to assist them with their job performance. The candidate will also be responsible for meeting service objectives and will create new processes and ideas to better serve both internal and external customers.

 



Qualifications

The candidate requires a Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or five years’ experience in Telecommunications or a related field. The candidate is required to review and analyze customer trouble reports and complex schematic circuit diagrams to determine what needs to be done to restore service. This includes knowledge of T1 carrier, optical carriers, and internet protocols. Knowledge of AC and DC electrical concept is a must. Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and database software is also required.

 

 

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with video networks, ROADM technologies, and fiber optics is desirable. Knowledge of electrical generators, batteries, rectifiers, diesel and turbine motors is also a plus. Other qualifications in troubleshooting circuits and Central Office equipment using a variety of simple and complex electronic test equipment (including software trouble shooting and debugging procedures) is also very desirable.
