Responsibilities

This position will provide Program/Project Management and Business Operations Support to the VP – New Product Organization, Center of Software Excellence, and his team, responsible for Verizon software development and architecture across the product domains and VZLabs.

This position is responsible for the end-to-end project/program management rather than the application of expertise in a specialized functional field of knowledge although they may possess subject matter experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage cross-functional project teams utilizing project management processes. Establish and monitor master project plans, acquisition and coordination of resources (people or systems, internal or external).
  • Create and maintain executive dashboard to reflect project performance.
  • Report project status to Verizon executives and vendors involved in the projects.
  • Responsible for vendor management, including liaison to sourcing and legal teams.
  • Responsible for providing business operational support and for internal business projects and programs from inception to completion
  • Responsible for finance management associated with projects and teams supported, including establishing budget plans, gap analysis and mitigation planning.
  • Exercises considerable judgment in developing methods, techniques & evaluation criteria for obtaining results.


Qualifications

 

 

Skills:

  • 7 + years total experience in Program/Project Management Area
  • Ability to resolve complex problems positively and professionally
  • Ability to establish plans, monitor and report on program status, budgets, schedules, etc.
  • Must be able to clearly and regularly communicate status, issues and risks to stakeholders
  • Solid ability to identify, develop and quantify any required corrective action plans
  • This position requires the ability to work accurately under time pressures; and ability to work independently with minimal supervision in an environment with frequently changing business needs
  • Exercises considerable judgment in developing methods, techniques & evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Solid track record of achieving or exceeding targeted results
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Advanced proficiency in creating presentation materials for executive review
  • Strong analytical and leadership skills
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office suite

Desired Skills:

  • Previous experience working with new technology or launching new products
  • Experienced in agile product and code development methodologies
  • Experienced in project management tools and applications
  • Experience with Atlassian software suite
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business or Project Management related fields of study preferred
