This position is responsible for the proper Operation, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting of a wide array of Network Elements related to Cell Site Locations.

* Primary area of responsibility will be Lexington, VA and the surrounding counties.

  • Duties in Support of Interdepartmental Objectives include:
    • Installation, Operation, Maintenance, Troubleshooting, and Optimization of any and all Cell Site Equipment.
    • Building and Ground upkeep.
    • Integration, Testing, Operation, and Troubleshooting of Network Hardware and Interconnect Facilities including Fiber, T1, Microwave, etc.
    • Installation, Testing, and Maintenance of In-Building Repeater and DAS systems.
  • Other Responsibilities include:
    • Maintaining Cell Site and Test Equipment Inventories.
    • Testing and Analyzing Network Coverage to ensure contiguous communication to support Network Integrity and Quality.
    • Updating Daily Logs with site-specific information and all work related activities.
    • Composing clear and concise reports for system documentation and Manager Review.
    • Performing audits as required by Local, Regional, Area, Corporate and/or Regulatory agencies.
    • Able to work On-Call, Nights, and Weekends as required.

The Technician – Cell is expected to be able to perform his/her duties with little supervision and participate in cross-functional projects as scheduled.



  • Bachelor degree preferred. Minimum Technical Degree or Equivalent Work Experience is required.
  • Minimum 2-years of experience plus electronics training in one or more of the following fields: Telecommunications, Two-way Radio, Paging, or Microwave radio is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the following technologies and/or platforms:
    • Voice and Data Cell Infrastructure experience including: Motorola CDMA, Ericsson, Microwave, etc.
    • Telecom experience including: Fiber, T1, DACS, etc.
    • Power and Battery Plant DC distribution systems experience including Operation and Maintenance of various Systems.
    • Computer experience including: PC hardware, configurations, and troubleshooting.
  • Intermediate training in at least 3 of the following areas: Data Communications, Digital Communications, Operating Systems and Applications, Telecommunications, Computer Support, Project Management, and Power Plant Solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook is required.
    Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. is required.
    A valid driver’s license is required.
