The purpose of this role is to be responsible for developing and delivering marketing programs, integrated campaigns, sales programs, and events.

Supporting the EMEA Sales function, the role is aligned with Sales management to drive the execution of market and sales plans, achievement of SOV and revenue objectives, and provide linkage between the sales and marketing organizations.

Reporting to the AVP Marketing EMEA in Reading, UK, you will work closely with sales management, field marketing, media relations and other key Verizon Business’ groups across the globe.

This mission should be approached in a selective way that aligns locally with market demand, standardizing and re-using Global approaches. This critical role will ensure that we are led by market-pull in our revenue generation activities rather than marketing-push, and that we focus on targeted activities with compelling themes that are affecting our customer’s businesses.

Role: Local Field Marketing Services

To develop and execute strategic marketing programs that build awareness of Verizon’s industry leading capabilities and drive demand within the target market. Manage acquisition and retention strategies, external communications and internal communications to Sales teams.

This includes:

  • In consultation with the local sales leaders, regional marketing teams and other relevant groups, define the target market and develop the sub-regional marketing plan.
  • Execute and deliver measurable marketing, demand generation and business development programs that lead to enhanced acquisition and retention outcomes, activity levels, funnel volume and account penetration.
  • Account Based Marketing activity – focus on a small number of high quality activities, report and manage on subsequent activity in a closed loop process to consistently and accurately drive effectiveness, measure and improve overall return on our investments.
  • Work with sales executives to align sales force and activities
  • Sponsor local sales alignment generally and field marketing integration including target customer activity
  • Build close relationships with sales management and work to internally position the marketing function as a trusted advisor to the local sales function.
  • Coordinate delivery of internal and external sales communications. Help shape product and solutions messages for optimum impact in the local market.
  • Develop supporting communications strategies and provide input, direction and advice to Sales teams and other marketing teams, as programs are developed - including preparation and development of presentations and/or other tools as required.
  • Use and contribute to Local Market analysis/Intelligence, including win reporting and references
  • Work with Sales to develop, manage and maintain a robust marketing database of customer contracts and prospects. Ensure the capture of key marketing data enable sales feedback through CRM processes.
  • Institute an EMEA relevant customer reference and case study program, encouraging Sales contribution.
  • Provide regional support to the Global GTM team in the development of a world-class Executive Briefing Centre.
  • Collaborate with the Global Marketing and International Leadership teams to establish an EMEA Customer Advisory Board for C-level contacts.
  • Improving the Vertical Ecosystem for EMEA; working with Global Vertical Leads and Sales Management to produce credible thought leadership content & messaging for designated verticals. This would include the development of an EMEA watering hole and virtual community with a clear vision, valuable assets and a practical $ focused approach.
  • Drive and manage marketing projects within budget, in accordance to timeframes, and ensure target project goals are achieved. Measure the impact and performance of initiatives and provide timely measurement/KPI reports.
  • Work with International media relations team to provide input into local outreach plans. Ensure media activities are aligned with the marketing plan. Drive Customer advocacy programs with media team support.
  • Manage Verizon vendors as required to ensure service value is maximized.

Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) minimum or equivalent

Required Experience: Proven experience in a marketing, and business development environment.

Skills Specific to the role:

  • Degree in business, marketing or a related field of study.
  • Experience in B2B marketing within a telecommunications / IT technology related field - specific global telecommunications experience will be viewed favorably.
  • Understands and can demonstrate competency working with different marketing media and methodologies. Campaign development and implementation skills.
  • Excellent understanding of EMEA and UK market place. Excellent interpersonal skills - experience working in a multi-cultural team within EMEA.
  • Strong relationship management, communication and presentation skills.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills. Aptitude for networking and developing cross functional relationships.
  • Communicates effectively with internal and external customers. Leads multiple initiatives concurrently in accordance with budget and time constraints. Excellent project management skills.
