Responsibilities

This position will serve as a privacy subject matter expert in regulatory and policy compliance for Verizon Wireless.  The position is responsible for overseeing and managing the protection, confidentiality, and appropriate use of SPI, CPNI, and proprietary information. 

The candidate will sponsor privacy initiatives, perform policy and regulatory compliance reviews; including CPI-303 attestations and vendor privacy assessments, maintain privacy and security contract language, create and maintain SPI and CPNI application inventory, serve as privacy experts to project teams and in day to day operations, provide content to privacy centric training, define privacy requirements for projects and processes, support annual CPNI certification, manage compliance review mitigation activities, support CPNI breach review and reporting processes, and manage SPI and confidential data breach response.

The successful candidate must have a demonstrable and thorough understanding of wireless business processes and IT application functions, privacy best practice, and a general understanding of security management techniques and technology.   A strong desire to promote solid privacy awareness and practice throughout the enterprise is critical, as the candidate will be asked to provide remediation recommendations to other groups/teams. The incumbent will serve as a liaison between VzW Privacy and various constituencies (System Administrators, Application Owners, Database Administrators, Business Owners, Legal, Networking, External Vendors / Partners, etc.).



Qualifications

5+ years in a business operations, IT, Information Security, Audit or Privacy related position

5+ years business process or IT related experience

Excellent communication skills

Excellent ability to build relationships across business teams

Education:  BA/BS in Information Systems or related field strongly preferred (or equivalent work experience)

Certifications:  CIPP preferred.  CISA, CISM or CISSP

Other: Business operations or IT client account management experienced preferred
