Responsibilities

The Mobile Connections Technical Product Management will work closely with Verizon internal development teams as well as partners to help establish hardware roadmaps and prioritize features for new machine-to-machine and Internet of Things (IoT) products. The successful candidate will have experience selling very technical and complex hardware/software solutions and the ability to drive customer adoption of new hardware communication systems such as modems, chips, etc. As you build and maintain key customer relationships, you should have the knowledge and ability to host a discussion with the VP of hardware engineering at a customer company. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Define and prioritize product and channel requirements for new M2M / IoT products targeted at B2B2B and B2B2C channel opportunities across multiple verticals.
  • Work with Verizon internal development teams as well as partners to help establish hardware roadmaps and prioritize features.
  • Research, assess and identify potential non-traditional sales, channel and distribution partnerships for growth.
  • Manage the entire channel development lifecycle process.
  • Establish product integration plans and service delivery platforms that may incorporate other company assets as part of a more comprehensive Enterprise customer solution.
  • Establish a strong rapport and partnership with Enterprise partners representing the largest B2B2B and B2B2C sales opportunities.
  • Effectively present product concepts to both internal account teams and external clients to support common goals.
  • Build an economic model, pipeline and forecast of new opportunities, own and track the results, and make recommendations to improve growth.
  • Achieve M2M targets related to product revenue, products and connections.
  • Manage the entire product development lifecycle process including Ideation, Evaluation, Development, Launch and Measure.
  • Manage internal cross-functional teams and external third-party OEM relationships including potential contracts, economics and terms as necessary.
  • On-boarding and provisioning new partners and products, and their activation in channels as appropriate.
  • Partner with sales and account teams as necessary to manage partner relationships and optimize potential opportunities.
  • Engage with internal cross-functional resources to support the GTM efforts for new products and channels.
  • Measure and improve products and channels post-launch throughout their lifecycle.
  • Travel required mainly related to on-site support of account teams’ clients.

 



Qualifications

Experience:

  • 10+ years in B2B2B and/or B2B2C Enterprise Technical Marketing, Product Management, Sales Engineering and/or Channel Development experience.
  • 7+ years in Wireless/Telecommunications industry experience.
  • Passionate about the role of product management, and passionate about wireless technology, products and/or devices.
  • A skilled technologist in mobile product, networks and related functions.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • An established track record managing new B2B2B and B2B2C product development, sales engineering and/or channel development programs and a passion for their success.
  • Experience in technical marketing, sales, product & customer management, building & maintaining key customer relationships.
  • Experience in selling very technical & complex solutions involving both hardware & software
  • Experience driving customer adoption of new hardware communication systems such as modems, chips etc.
  • Demonstrate a level of technical knowledge to push Verizon technical leads to develop advanced product capabilities.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, a desire to interact with executive leadership teams, and the ability to articulate product and channel strategies with accelerated timeframes.
  • Demonstrate a level of superior business acumen including product development, channel development, marketing and related functions.
  • Experience building financial models and forecasting by working with channel partners.
  • Ability to focus on the minutiae details of each customer experience touch point related to a new product while also understanding the broader market forces at work that might influence longer-term strategy, decision-making and road-mapping efforts.
  • Works well as part of a team (open to others’ ideas and suggestions), but also effectively leads teams as necessary.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.

 

Education:

  • Undergraduate/Bachelor’s degree.
  • Graduate degree in Business / Marketing or Engineering is preferred.
