The Small Cell/DAS System Performance Engineer’s primary responsibilities include planning, performance, and optimization of small cell/DAS commissioning, system acceptance, and optimization activities for both coverage and capacity. The candidate needs to have proficient experience in handling RF Optimization for both micro cells as well as large venues for special events such as oDAS and iDAS etc.


  • Responsible for all voice and data capacity on all platforms for RAN.
  • Understand system performance and testing requirements for each project.
  • Review designs using engineering tools such as iBWave and ATOLL.
  • Direct or perform system testing utilizing scanners, spectrum analyzers, power meters, optical test equipment and other testing tools.
  • Direct or perform DAS commissioning and integration.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting for system faults, alarms and performance degradation.
  • Analyze and summarize test data to evaluate performance against key performance indicators (KPIs).
  •  Optimize networks to meet contracted KPIs.
  • Prepare and submit testing reports, close-out packages and acceptance documentation.
  • Compile and maintain all project documentation in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Expert in evaluating and communicating root cause analysis.
  • Ability to determine capacity related challenges and provide efficient holistic resolutions.
  • Develops training and information seminars in the field of small cell/DAS Optimization with respect to LTE/VoLTE.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering (or degree with a similar rigor) with a minimum of 4 years of wireless experience in a System Performance context and knowledge of LTE including VoLTE and RAN Networks.
  • 5+ years of strong RF Design and Optimization work experience including specific experience with small cells and DAS.
  • Strong background/experience in neutral host in building design and optimization.
  • Demonstrated expertise presenting RF designs and performance analysis reports for small cells and DAS systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cell site integration, performance testing, network optimization and network operations, including the following technologies: CDMA, EVDO, UMTS, HSPA and LTE.
  • Working knowledge of at least one data collection tool such as Datapro, TEMS Symphony, etc.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis/post-processing tools such as Irisview, Windcatcher/Actix/TEMS Discovery
  • Strong follow-up skills; ability to organize applicable department timelines and follow up with internal and Knowledge of Ericsson-ALU systems including OSS preferred.
  • Knowledge of 3GPP LTE standards preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency deploying and commissioning DAS networks based on equipment from Commscope, TE Connectivity, Mobile Access and Solid.
  • Ability to understand, compile, evaluate, and present complex data and solutions.
  • Ability to differentiate and diagnose RAN and CORE related problems; understanding of Systems Engineering aspects related to RAN & proficiency in Core level call flow analysis. IMS understanding is a plus.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as, Unix, scripting tools.
  • Knowledge of mapping software such as MapInfo, ArcGIS, Topo.
  • Excellent skill set with all MS office tools.
  • Must have strong work ethic, integrity and work extremely well in a team.
  • Superior organizational time management, prioritization and project planning skills.
