Responsibilities

The Associate Engineer – System Performance is responsible for collecting and using hourly and daily service measurement data to optimize the network and reduce lost calls and ineffective attempts as well as decreased throughput; creating new cell site translations and neighbor lists in support of regional build program activity; and supporting System Performance and RF Engineers in evaluating and improving areas of poor coverage by identifying system performance problems (dropped calls, static, interference and throughput  degrade). Other responsibilities include: reporting problems to appropriate engineers; resolving customer service issues; and assisting in implementing solutions; collecting drive test data in support of performance evaluations and build program prioritization; troubleshooting and resolving customer complaints and trouble tickets; creating maps for network optimization and planning; and conducting special engineering studies to support continued KPI improvement.



Qualifications

BS in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent work experience required

0-1 year of experience in the cellular or telecommunications’ industry

General understanding and or working knowledge in one or more of the following platforms and/or technologies:
System Performance including: RF System Optimization techniques for voice and data for Ericsson and/or Lucent infrastructure
System Design including: CDMA\LTE
Operating systems and applications including: UNIX, Windows, MS Office
Proficient in office computer applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access

Experience with GPS, post-processing tools such as Actix, Windcatcher, Spectrum Analyzers, Data-Pro/QXDM pilot scanners a plus.
Ability to demonstrate good analytical troubleshooting skills. Driver's License required.
