Monitor your Energy Usage

After you set up your energy devices, you can monitor how much energy is consumed by your Appliance Switch or Energy Reader. The Appliance Switch measures the amount of energy (kWh) from any 110 volt appliance connected to the Appliance Switch, and the Energy Reader, which is connected to your circuit breaker, measures the amount of energy from all other energy sources in the rest of the home. Important: The electricity consumption (kWh) reported by your Energy Reader is a real time estimate of your actual household consumption.

Access your Energy Usage Information

There are several ways to access your Energy Usage information: From the Home Monitoring Control Web site on My Verizon, Home Control mobile app or FiOS TV.

Important: You must set up and activate an energy reader before you can monitor your home's energy consumption

Computer

From the Home Monitoring and Control Web site on My Verizon:

Under the Energy tab: select the Today, The Week, This Month, or This Year tab and select one of the following from the selection bar:

  • CO2: Review the amount of energy you've consumed (kWh) compared to other forms of energy for the selected time period.

  • Bar Chart: Shows the highest and lowest energy consumption during the selected time period. This information helps point out those  periods where energy usage is the highest and could be reduced.

  • Pie Chart: Shows a break-down of the energy usage by appliances during the time period. This information helps identify time periods where energy usage behavior can be modified to reduce energy.

  • Compare: Review energy usage between different time periods. This information is useful if you want to compare energy usage between weeks, months or years. You can monitor which days of the week produce the most energy consumption
