How do I determine my computer's Operating System or Service Pack version? You can use Windows Control Panel to determine your Operating System and Service Pack version.

To find your Operating System information in Windows Vista:
  1. Click Start in the lower left Taskbar.
  2. Select Control Panel.
  3. Select System and Maintenance.
  4. Select System. The Windows information is in the top section.

  1. Click Start in the lower left Taskbar.
  2. Select Control Panel.
  3. Select System. The Windows information is in the top section of the General tab.
