Using Device Manager in Windows Vista or Windows 7 to check for an installed  wireless network adapter
  1. Click Start in the left Taskbar.

  2. Enter Device Manager in the Start Search field.

  3. Start Menu Search

  4. Click Device Manager. [Show Me]

  5. Click Continue if the User Control window displays.

  6. Click the plus (+) in front of Network adapters to expand this section. [Show Me]

  7. Confirm that you have a wireless network adapter installed.

  8. Device Manager

  9. Close Device Manager.
  1. If you've confirmed you have a wireless network adapter installed, you're ready to connect to your network. Select your Operating System from the list below for step-by-step instructions. If you don't have a wireless network adapter installed, you must verify you have the required windows components installed and install the wireless network adapter before you can connect to the network.
