Setting the shared folder permissions in Windows 2000
  1. Select Maximum allowed to permit the maximum number of users to connect to this shared folder at one time.
    Or
    Limit the number of users who can access this folder by selecting Allow Users and entering the maximum number of users who can share this folder.


  2. Click OK.


  3. Verify that the folder is shared. A small hand under the folder icon indicates it's a shared folder.

This completes the setup for sharing folders on your home network. Other users on your home network can access your shared folders, and you can access the shared network folders on the other networked computers.
