Naming the shared folder in Windows XP
  1. Select the Sharing tab.

  2. Select Share this folder on the network.

  4. Enter a unique name for this folder. It can be the same as the original name in Windows Explorer or it can be completely different. The name you enter is displayed to others on the network when they look for shared files.
    • If any of the computers on your network are running Windows 98 SE, Windows Me, or Windows NT, make sure the folder name is 12 characters or less.
