 Step 2: Configuring Windows Windows XP to share folders and printers The following components must be installed on each computer linked to the network:

  • The File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks component is required to share printers and folders on your computer.


  • The Client for Microsoft Networks component must be installed to access the shared folders and printers on the other networked computers. Select your computer's version of Windows for instructions to share printers and folders on your home network.
To configure Windows XP to allow printer and folder sharing:

  1. Select Start in the lower left Taskbar.
  1. Select Control Panel from the pop-up menu.


  2. Click Network and Internet Connections. [Show Me]

  1. Click Network Connections. [Show Me]
