Reporting directly to the Executive Director of HR, the successful incumbent will champion strategic and operational objectives for directing all aspects of global HR Compliance within Verizon.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Drive and ensure compliance with EEO/AA and other HR compliance matters globally across the Verizon enterprise
  • Lead and manage a team to ensure compliance with various state and federal regulations as well as international compliance requirements
  • Oversee the preparation of position statements, affirmative action plans, respond to governmental audits and provides informational updates for HR Business Partners, and monitors field compliance
  • Leverages employee assistance programs and leads the team to deliver EAP resources to employees during times of crisis and for general work life issues
  • Lead and leverage the Company's more than forty health and wellness centers, their coaches, programs, and resources to foster a healthy and engaged workplace
  • Partner with the Company business continuity team in preparing for and responding to labor events, natural disasters, etc., by caring for HR related matters and employee assignment training and deployment during such events
  • Assess effectiveness of and develop additional HR/compliance training, practices and company HR guidelines
  • Oversee consistency of employment decisions, processes and practices, including discipline, staffing, pay, and reductions in force
     

Required Skills & Experience 

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in HR/Legal Compliance fields
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent understanding of federal and state HR, labor and safety laws
  • Ability to work in an extremely high pressure environment
  • Ability to lead through persuasion and influence, particularly in stressful situations
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills, including consulting and stakeholder abilities
  • Analytical and strategic thinking.
