Responsibilities

We are currently recruiting an experienced Security Operations Centre professional, in a Lead Consultant capacity to join our team based in Bruce, Canberra.
 
Being a point of escalation within the Managed Security team, you will be an expert in your field, whether it is change management, incident management or security event handling. The Lead Consultant will provide direction to analysts and assist the Duty Manager in ensuring smooth shift operations and while it is not expected that you will be required to undertake the day to day analysis, you will be brought in to provide context and experience to progress incidents towards resolution quickly.
 
You will be involved in high Level IDS analysis including proactive policy evaluation and tuning; you will lead technical troubleshooting calls with both customers and other teams; complex change handing and vendor interaction; support mitigations and maintenance activities associated with the associated platform; advanced device health management and backend configuration / troubleshooting; Creation of procedures, training / operations manuals; run the shift in absence of Duty Manager and lead resolution of High Priority incidents.
 

Qualifications

In order to be considered for this role, you will have the relevant Bachelors/Master’s degree and the appropriate technical training/certifications such as experience in Cisco, Checkpoint, Linux, Juniper, Windows, IDS, Proxies, Mail, LDAP and/or Arbor. Security Certifications e.g. CCSP, CCSE, IDS product certification and SANS will be highly regarded.
 
You will have gained your skills working in a dedicated security position, within an Enterprise organisation and have the aptitude to excel in high pressure environments. Being proactive in following up on customer issues, the ability to identify gaps in processes and strong problem solving skills will be fundamental to achieving success in this role. Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to engage with customers to understand their requirements is a minimum requirement.
