Provide Tier-1 surveillance and support for Global Switching Network to include Sonus, Lucent, Siemens, Ericsson, Nortel and/or Alcatel voice switching platforms. Function carried out through alarm monitoring, traffic analysis, outage notification, processing trouble tickets, maintenance scheduling and providing technical assistance to Field Operations personnel on the repair of switch platform and traffic issues. Function also responsible for monitoring the implementation of switch network change control activities and perform pre/post call through testing. Applicant must be willing to work rotating 7x24 hour shifts.


Graduation from a 4-year technical college with a major in electronics, computer science, telecommunications, information technology or related area, an Associate Degree in electronics and 3-5 years of job-related voice switch platform experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Strong oral and written communication skills a must.  Ability to speak a foreign language is preferred.  Knowledge of telecommunication equipment, call processing, signaling, and billing or provisioning systems a plus.  Knowledge of specific vendor platforms a plus. Knowledge and experience with Voice over IP a plus.
