Responsibilities

  • The Engineer III Cslt - RF is responsible for the RF Design of the regional cellular/LTE network including review of sectors for overarching capacity and coverage challenges
  • Using propagation modeling, demand, performance tools and general market knowledge to develop PCI plans and reduce system interference (SINR)
  • Performing radio engineering evaluation for system planning and site acquisition; coordinating and planning frequency assignments
  • Working with new features and technical parameters for network optimization
  • Communicating with other Network teams to identify, test, design, and activate new cell sites, carrier adds, new product implementations
  • Developing long term build plans for geographic area of responsibility and other markets
  • Conducting data analysis of switch statistics and drive data by conducting drive testing for potential sites, new site integration, system optimization; performing macro/small cell design including antenna selection and placement;
  • Supporting p for the region; projects can consist of new project rollout, carrier adds, performance monitoring software, breaking down projects into phases, setting milestones; preparing financial justification; and tracking
  • Evaluating traffic usage reports to address Data and Voice KPI’s
  • Pursuing technical issues, problem solving, and reviewing new technical products/services to the benefit and improvement of the overall network
  • Processes documentation required for FAA/FCC filings and compliance
  • Analyze Site EME requirements and document required signage and safety requirements

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree Required BS in Engineering  Preferred, Masters would be a plus
  • Minimum 3 -5 years’ experience in RF Propagation, Antenna System Design Theory and Base statement equipment experience working on both active/passive elements
  • Experience with RF propagation tools such as Geoplan and workflow tools like Network Flow;
  • CDMA and LTE wireless communication systems experience desired
  • Familiarity with cellular system design and operation
  • Experience spanning optimizing CDMA (IS-95, IS-2000 Voice and Data) wireless/cellular systems and LTE. Must be familiar with Lucent and E// CDMA/LTE system hierarchy and functionality for both voice and data systems
  • Must be familiar with regulatory filings and compliance including FAA/FCC filings and site EME requirements System Design including: AMPS, CDMA, and 3G (IS-2000)
  • Operating/Using test equipment including: DataPro, pilot scanners, baseline equipment, spectrum analyzers
  • Proficient in office computer applications: Excel, Word, Power Point Experience with multiple computer hardware such as PCs and Sun Workstations

  • Ability to demonstrate good communication skills by communicating, verbally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner; listening attentively; applying appropriate grammar; and integrating large volumes of information from multiple sources
  • Ability to demonstrate performance stability by maintaining performance level under varying degrees of pressure and uncertainty, and effectively dealing with situations for which few or no guidelines exist
  • Ability to work flexible hours and support night or weekend work as needed Overnight travel may be required
  • Valid Driver’s license  required
