Position Responsibilities:

The Verizon Foundation Intern position, supporting the Healthcare team, will ideally develop and execute strategies and plans that promote and support the Connected Healthcare program, our pillar program consisting of children’s, women’s and seniors health initiatives supporting a healthcare ecosystem aligned with Verizon Enterprise Services.  Assists in research, project planning, and preparing presentations.  Handle other tasks as needed including assisting with the updating of project database and related information.

Major Activities and Responsibilities:

  • Providing strategic project planning and support for internal and external stakeholders of the Connected Healthcare program.
  • Developing plans for improving technology solutions integration process and operations
  • Providing support of area healthcare ecosystem program, including evaluation of partners, technology assessment and metrics/evaluation framework
  • Logistical planning for major media events and partner employee engagement
  • Identify new VES and VZ/VZW technologies and prepare strategy on integration into healthcare programs
  • Handling various administrative tasks as needed, including assisting with surveys, research, and presentations.

Qualifications

 

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program for Business, Public Health, Life Sciences or equivalent major
  • Currently enrolled in a full time degree program and returning to the program after the completion of the internship
  • 3.0 GPA or greater preferred
  • Excellent verbal and writing/editing skills
  • Self-starter
  • Excellent project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Understanding of social media
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proven leadership and people skills
  • Thrives in fast paced environment
  • Positive, high-energy approach to assignments and a willingness to learn quickly
