*Position Responsibilities: Analyst - Commissions Process Strategy & Design

  • Responsible for developing and redesigning the process, tools, structures and techniques for necessary to transform the cumbersome commission processes used in delivering sales compensation.  This role will direct the analysis and measurement of current revenue, sales, assignment, quota, personnel and other metrics.  In addition, this role will review all workflow processes, present, recommend and provide financial impacts and risk assessment to executing process change.
  • Significantly contribute to the delivery of Commissions services as an Individual Contributor working in specific areas within Commissions and also assist in establishing required linkages to the global Finance organization.
  • Focus entirely on analyzing, evaluating, documenting, and improving the various operational processes, as well as, establishing requirements, plans and project management in support of changing environments impacting compensation.  This position reports to the Commissions process and operations reporting manager.
  • Demonstrate a basic knowledge of financial, accounting, and additional support systems.
  • Work to support the team as assigned enabling the business through technology enhancements with various assigned tasks to collect and assimilate data into operational processes.
  • Demonstrate understanding of systems and interdependencies of processes to drive the business toward the development of systems that enable process improvement.
  • A key responsibility of this position is to identify any improvement opportunities in this area and, if asked to, develop the design and implement new processes or procedures as a result of identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Value is provided to the enterprise by constantly improving the processes associated with the systems (e.g., Callidus and related systems) and delivery of Commissions services, which provide timely, accurate information and ultimately safeguard Verizon assets.
  • Help ensure that incoming and outgoing transaction processes are controlled, effective and efficient.  Find innovative ways to manage our complex set of transactions. Make processes more efficient and scalable, and work to ensure the highest level of quality of our operations and minimize operational risk.   Externally, collaborate with our partners and sales stakeholders, and internally, collaborate across the Finance Operations and Commissions teams.
  • Analyze data to identify new opportunities and execute projects for increasing revenue, helping obtain better value from paying our employees/agents as we continue to grow and expand business footprint.  Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., sales, HR, product management, engineering, customers and vendors) to deliver best-in-class automated Commissions processes for our customer, supplier, and employee base.  Play a key role in improving cash flow and profitability by seeking scalable, cost- efficient solutions and by minimizing the impact of operational issues. Help implement effective Commissions production, reporting, monitoring, escalation and resolution management, and driving continuous process improvement.
  • Exercises significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.



*Required Skills & Experience

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience with process analysis and design, organizational development and process design.
  • Skilled in quality improvement techniques, analytical reasoning and problem solving.
  • Intermediate level of understanding for report query and design.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel; strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment, and to lead and drive complex operational initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills, combined with impeccable business judgment and ability to communicate with seasoned management.
  • Collaborative working style and ability to work with vendors and internal teams.

*Desired Skills & Experience

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience in directing and leading the quality/process improvement activities/projects within a function or division.
  • Query tool proficiency (e.g., SQL/Cognos) is preferred.
  • Employees/candidates with professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA) are preferred.
  • Experience in the technology or telecommunications industry preferred.
