This position leads and directs a team of accountants responsible for recording and reporting general ledger activity in support of the Consolidations Accounting department.

This position reports to the Consolidations and Reporting Accounting Manager.

-Performs complex analytical assignments and prepares accounting related transactions and reports. Many of the functions will be to assist Consolidations accounting team with the month, quarter and year end close cycles.
-Support the Manager with accounting, analyzing and reporting on general ledger transactions.
-Leads and directs a team of accountants responsible for assisting with the month end close, financial statement analysis (balance sheet and cash flow) and other tasks related to the maintenance and/or reconciliation of accounting records.
-Provides value to the enterprise by providing decision makers with accurate and timely accounting information.
-Interprets reports and records for managers, making recommendations on possible courses of action.
-Possesses sufficient accounting acumen to review staff's work and analyzes the output for appropriate accounting treatment, completeness and accuracy related to consolidations accounting.
-Interacts with stakeholders from within and outside of the Accounting organization to respond in an accurate and timely fashion to inquiries related to the group’s activities.
-Maintains on‐going interaction with client groups and other functional areas relating to objectives, deliverables, resource allocation and related matters.
-Supervises the day-to-day input of transactions in the general ledger and related interfaces and prepares financial reports.
-Leads reviews for accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records.
-Supervises the maintenance of records for routine accounting transactions and leads the review and reconciliation of accounts.
-Works with the Consolidations and Reporting Accounting Manager to ensure the appropriateness and accuracy of the monthly accounting in compliance with GAAP and FASB requirements.
-This position will also take a more leading role in the company’s efforts to comply with the requirements of Sarbanes Oxley, including working closely with both internal and external auditors.
-Conducts the documentation of complex accounting projects. Ensures compliance and adherence with controls for internal policies and external regulations.
-Directs efforts in developing, implementing, and maintaining systems, procedures and policies for the group. Leverages system and technology knowledge to drive simplification efforts.
-Plans and structures work activities and sets deadlines for their team. Subsequently monitors the progress and results of team activities.
-Responsible for recruiting, staffing, professional development and/or disciplinary action as needed and provides input to management on their team's overall performance.
-Leads efforts for developing the skills and experience of staff.


Required Skills and Experience:

-BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or Economics
-Master's in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent preferred.
-Professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA) strongly preferred.
-4+ years of directly related professional experience, including 1+ years supervising staff
-Working knowledge of accounting systems and applications including SAP, PeopleSoft, CPM/Essbase, Hyperion Financial Management and Blackline.
-Strong knowledge of FASB and SEC requirements, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting practices. Basic knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel and PowerPoint; strong written and oral communications skills.
-Prior experience with Consolidations Accounting is preferred, but not required.
