 The primary role of this position is claims oversight and analysis in a paperless and automated environment.  In this role the Consultant will manage a portfolio of claims through direct interaction with Verizon’s Third Party Administrator (TPA).   In addition, the Consultant will be responsible for utilizing metrics and analyzing outcomes in managing claims.  The position requires strong decision-making and collaborative skills as well as establishment of strong working relationships across various teams like Legal, Health & Safety, and Contract Sourcing.  The Consultant will work closely with the National Claim Manager and Director – Claims Counsel on program execution and outcomes analysis.


Claims Management Execution

Consultant will work closely with external partners such as the TPA and defense counsel and internal partners (Legal, Sourcing, Operations, EH&S) to execute claims management strategies that will mitigate Verizon’s insured claims exposure.

Consultant will utilize occurrence evaluation, claim reviews, focused audits and spreadsheet analysis on a day to day basis to drive strategy.  Management and goal setting through the development and monitoring of metrics will be paramount to success.

 Reporting and Analysis

Monitors and develops monthly outcomes analysis for region.  Creates monthly report on significant activity and emerging trends based on outcomes analysis.  The role requires that the individual understands claims management metrics and is able to interpret data into actionable items.



  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; Finance; Risk Management; Business Administration, related field or equivalent experience required
  • 3+ years Insurance/Risk Management/Claims experience required
  • Major broker experience desired; TPA; corporation; or insurance company will be considered
  • Understanding of insurance and claim fundamentals
  • Excellent decision-making and analytical skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to multi-task
  • Excellent team player with strong organizational and collaborative skills
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
