Manager Data Network DSO – M (Maintenance) 3rd shift


  • Manage staff of 3rd shift technicians responsible for maintenance and repair of nationwide data networks.
  • Responsible for OTN, OTNGN, EDN, Enterprise, WDN, WSN, IT, WVN, FES, network repair and maintenance.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Managing small to large outages and having the ability to articulate complex network outages into resolution.
  • Strong hiring, interviewing, and screening abilities
  • Monthly reporting and presentation of results
  • Holds regular meetings, sets priorities, and articulates goals into actionable items
  • Manage performance via development plans and appraisals
  • On call rotation
  • Manage employee scheduling and ACD phone statistics
  • Manage Remedy tickets, Reduction of MTTR, Reduction of ticket time


  • Minimum Associate’s degree, two-year technical degree, relevant military experience, equivalent special electronics training, or equivalent work experience is required. Bachelor’s preferred
  • Strong technical understanding of VZW data network topology (Access, Distribution, Core)
  • Experience with routers, Ethernet switches, Firewall, load balancers, and transport equipment
  • Strong experience with Cisco and Juniper devices
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to analyze processes and drive process improvement
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to a non technical audience
  • Strong technical analytical skills
  • Proven leadership abilities, Positive role model
  • Ability to manage remote staff
  • Ability to deal with high pressure and high visibility situations
  • Managing high expectations from multiple directions
  • Ability to triage and prioritize network outages
