The Manager-Operations, Data Service Performance is directly responsible for the performance monitoring and tier two level troubleshooting support of the Florida regional data networks. This includes monitoring the performance of EBH, Transport, COIN, EPC, NNI, and IMS networks. The Manager-Operations, Data Service Performance also supervises the Data Service Performance team’s daily activities to ensure our 3G and 4G data networks are proactively monitored in all Florida markets using IRIS, ELPT, COGNOS, EXFO Brix, NetScout, ALU SAM, EBH-RTT, RTT, and Autotest,.
The Manager-Operations, Data Service Performance ensures our Florida 3G and 4G networks operate at peak performance, exceed VZW performance KPIs, and comply with all corporate configuration guidelines/directives. The Manager-Operations, Data Service Performance further ensures that all Florida markets get tier 2 level support for all 3G and 4G related data networking issues from his/her team.
Responsible for the daily proactive monitoring and troubleshooting of the regional data network using IRIS, ELPT, COGNOS, EXFO Brix, ALU SAM, NetScout, and Autotest. The Manager-Operations, Data Service Performance must always ensure that these tools are constantly updated and used as a centerpiece for the monitoring of the Florida 3G and 4G data networks.
Supervise the DSP team’s network monitoring, troubleshooting, and pre/post change control testing to ensure our 3G and 4G data networks operate at peak performance.
Serves as a primary Operations interface to Corporate, Area, and Regional Operations and Engineering teams to ensure that all data network configuration changes, functionality enhancements, and capacity expansion projects are completed in a timely, organized, methodical, and precise manner in accordance with procedures defined in the pre-approved MOPs.
Ensures that all corporate Maintenance Engineering configuration guidelines and directives associated with all regional data distribution node and LTE EPC network elements located in the Jupiter, Orlando, and Miami West MSC facilities are executed and logged in the National Directive Tracker.
Collaborates with MSC’s on scheduling and tracks all local and remote work activity related to all regional data distribution nodes and LTE EPC network elements located in the Jupiter, Orlando, and Miami West MSC facilities
Manages the MOP review process for all local and remote work activity related to all regional data distribution node and LTE EPC network elements located in the Jupiter, Orlando, and Miami West MSC facilities
Oversees the troubleshooting and restoration efforts for all regional data distribution node and LTE EPC network elements located in the Jupiter, Orlando, and Miami West MSC facilities
Manages the multiple vendors used for all regional data distribution node and LTE EPC network elements to obtain root cause analysis’ for all outages, immediately obtains/creates and distributes preventive procedures to avoid recurring outages, and works with ME to drive the vendors to deliver the final resolutions/fixes required to prevent future outages
Interfaces with the NSS team to help evaluate, select, and improve the functionality of data networking specific testing and network monitoring tools. Additionally; works with vendors of performance reporting tools directly to shape future product lines and enhancements to current product lines to ensure that the data necessary to effectively monitor the network is available.
Provides all Florida markets with tier 2 level support for all 3G and 4G related data networking issues
A minimum of a Bachelors level degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications Management, or Management Information Systems with an emphasis in Data Networking is required. Masters level degree preferred.
Data Network industry certification equivalent to Cisco CCNP, or CCIE
5 or more years of direct managerial experience in a complex data networking OA&M department is required.
10 or more years of experience in the wireless communications industry, with experience in both System Performance and Operations.
Expert level knowledge of VZW data network monitoring and testing tools (i.e. IRIS, EXFO Brix, EHealth, SQM, ELPT, COGNOS, NetScout, and Autotest ).
