Business Analyst


Position Summary Description:

  • The Business Analyst will need to be able to work with the business as well as the IT application teams to do the following:
  • Analysis of Business request to generate business requirements
  • Create Business Process Use Cases
  • Lead group-based Business Requirements Definition sessions
  • Perform low-level Business Requirements gathering and entry
  • Specification definition
  • Create Process Flow Diagrams
  • Alert management of risks/issues
  • Enter requirements, use cases and process flows into preferred analysis software tools
  • Help development, testing and troubleshoot
  • Support for migration and go-live
  • Handover and training
  • Presentations to all levels within the company including executives, business managers and technical teams and business partners external to the company


Key Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Business Analysis: Be able to participate or lead efforts with the business and technical teams to clarify the requirements from internal and external clients
  • Documentation: Have the ability to develop requirement documents, Operational Level Process (OLPs) and functional requirements documents
  • Support: To be able to work with the IT teams to make sure the appropriate business requirements are being followed, as well as following up with the business on any questions that the IT team may have in regards to the business requirements.
  • Handover/Training: To handover and train the test and training teams on any new requirements that have been developed, to make sure they have an understanding on how it works
  • Approvals: Obtain approvals from all necessary teams for projects prior to start of any development
  • Project Plan: Develop project detail plans with Business for large projects
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.


Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in Business Analysis on large complex systems
  • Experience in thorough implementation lifecycle (requirement/specification definition, development, testing, migration and go-live support)
  • Experience with customer account lifecycle
  • Excellent business process understanding
  • Excellent open and proactive written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in team-oriented environment
  • Ability to work in matrix managed environment
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Willingness to travel – 10% or less


Preferred Qualifications:

  • More than 5 years of Business Analysis experience within large, complex systems
  • Previous experience with an Aftermarket product
  • Experience with a software requirement management tool such as TopTeam, Blueprint, Borland Caliber and  iRise
  • Experience with Web based portals and mobile apps
  • Experience with Logistics and Call Centers
